Privacy Policy — StillScroll

StillScroll is built by a solo developer. This document explains what data the app handles and why. Plain language, no dark patterns.

Summary, one line

StillScroll stores an anonymous user id, your practice history, and the apps you chose to block. Nothing else.

What StillScroll does not see

• How you use your apps. On iOS, Apple's Screen Time (FamilyControls) API is sandboxed — only the system can see your app usage, never StillScroll. On Android, StillScroll's accessibility service only checks whether a chosen app has come to the foreground so it can show the pause; it does not record, store, or transmit your app usage.
• What you do inside those apps. StillScroll can't read your DMs, your feed, your watch history, or anything inside the apps it pauses.
• Your name, email, or phone number. StillScroll uses anonymous accounts by default. You never have to identify yourself.
• Your contacts, photos, location, microphone, or camera. StillScroll never requests these. Practice audio is played to you — it never records you.

What StillScroll does store

All stored data is keyed to a random anonymous id assigned on first launch.

Permissions StillScroll asks for

• Screen Time access — FamilyControls (iOS). Required for the app to function. Lets StillScroll apply and lift the system-level pause on the apps you pick.
• Accessibility service + "display over other apps" (Android). Required for the app to function. The accessibility service detects when a chosen app opens; the overlay shows the pause. StillScroll only sees which of your chosen apps is open, never its content.
• Notifications (optional). Used to remind you that you can start a practice and unlock. You can skip this.

Third parties

StillScroll uses these services to operate:

• Supabase (database + authentication) — stores the user id, practice history, unlocks, blocked-app references.
• RevenueCat (subscriptions) — manages the premium entitlement. Payment is handled by Apple or Google; StillScroll never sees your card or bank details.
• Sentry (crash reporting) — receives error events and stack traces. We never send the contents of your data.
• Mixpanel (product analytics) — receives anonymous event names and the user id.

We do not sell or share your data with advertisers. We do not use ad-tracking SDKs, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Children

StillScroll is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from users under 13.

Your rights

• Export. Email stillscrollapp@gmail.com and we'll send you everything we have linked to your user id, in JSON, within 30 days.
• Delete. Email the same address and we'll wipe your account from all of the above services, within 30 days.
• Stop using StillScroll. Uninstalling the app stops new data collection. Existing data persists until you ask for deletion.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material, we'll bump the "Last updated" date and notify you in the app on next launch.
